Product Description

This damaru drum is 6 inches wide and it was handmade in Nepal. This is a two-headed drum, and can be played by twisting the drum from one side to the other while holding it by the string. The ball that is connected by a string to the damaru will go back and forth from one side of the drum to the other side. The damaru started in India as a Hindu instrument, and in Tibet it was adopted by Vajrayana Buddhism. In Tibet at one time damaru drums were made from skulls. This drum comes inside a case made from brocade.
