The Communist Party lied about the Japanese War in Chinese history books and claimed they defeated the Japanese. Actually, the Nationalists defeated the Japanese courageously. More than ten million Nationalist soldiers died. Mao's army hid in the mountains and became stronger after the Japanese war, which lasted for 8 years. Mao defeated the Nationalists in 1949.
