This statue depicts Ganesh sitting on a platform with one leg folded. Ganesha always has four arms and an elephant head, but unlike other deities he may be shown seated or standing. This statue is 6.25 inches tall and 4.5 inches wide. This statue was handmade in Nepal from plated silver. Ganesha is the remover of obstacles and the patron of arts and sciences. Ganesha is said to have born with a human head, and there are a variety of stories of how his head was replaced by an elephant's head.
